How Petunia Gets Ready For The Hospital: Tips For an Easy Hospital Stay

Driven by my experiences as a child-teen medical patient and growing dissatisfied by the lack of realistic, helpful children’s books about hospitals— I wrote one myself. Today on Amazon and Barnes & Noble, you can find “How Petunia Gets Ready for the Hospital: Tips for an Easy Hospital Stay.” Simple words walk young patients through the processes around surgery to appeal to the widest audience possible. Most important for me was highlighting how it is okay— and normal— for patients to be scared. I offer my coping strategies, including deep breathing, for reference to provide concrete tools, too.

"How Petunia Get's Ready for the Hospital" is a fun and helpful book for parents, children, and anyone stressed with a daunting task. The book helps people overcome fear with concrete games, practice and coping strategies.

I have partnered with Mount Sinai Hospital, Lenox Hill Hospital, Manhattan Eye Ear and Throat Hospital, and Summit Medical Group in distributing over three thousand copies.
